Amplicon 1 extends from -395 to -112 bp, amplicon 2 from +175 to +396 bp, and amplicon 3 from +398 to +718 bp relative to the first base of the transcript. The region between amplicons 1 and 2 is so GC rich that no workable PCR primers could be designed to amplify it after bisulfite conversion. Transcription of CSMD1 is from left to right in the figure.
